Hi, I’m Jeff
This spot is usually reserved for counselors and therapists to give you a copy of their resume. But we’ve found most people aren’t interested in learning about the letters after our last names. Instead, they’re more concerned with knowing two things:
Can you really help me?
Can I really trust you?
So, I’d like to use this space to let you know who I work best with and what you can expect in our time together. People who work with me find success and real results when they come to therapy ready to dig in and get ready to work. That doesn’t mean you have to have all the answers. After all, that’s part of what therapy is for. But I do hope you’ll show up ready to talk about what you’ve been through and where you’d like to be.
The process of reaching out for help can sometimes be really scary. Maybe you’ve tried everything you can think of to get better, and it’s just not working. Maybe you’re just sick and tired of feeling like there’s absolutely no hope left and life is just pointless now. Here, you don’t have to have it altogether, and you don’t have to keep pretending like you’re okay.
I work with men who are struggling with anxiety, who feel stressed out to the point that they don’t know where else to turn. Sometimes it’s worry about money, or family, or work. It could be that you’re struggling with something that you know is completely irrational, but you just don’t know how to tell your heart that. How do you move past something that you can’t even wrap your head around? Together, we’ll find the answers to get you on the right path.
I also help men suffering from trauma and PTSD. Together, we’ll work to understand what happened to you and the things you’ve been through. A lot of guys struggle because they feel like they’re supposed to have their emotions under control and think they have to be tough all the time. Here, you don’t have to be tough. It’s okay to not be okay. But luckily, you don’t have to stay that way.
Finally, I also work with teenage boys and kids who are having a hard time adjusting in school or having trouble at home. Being a teenager or kid in today’s society is hard. With social media, difficult relationships, and stress to succeed in school, it’s no wonder young people have trouble adjusting sometimes. I’ll work with your son to figure out what helps him find peace, joy and motivation to move forward.
I don’t pretend to know everything or have all the answers. I can’t guarantee you’ll be able to show up for two or three appointments and suddenly have life figured out. But what I can guarantee is that I’ll work with you to find the best solution to what you’re facing.
