The pandemic has a lot of us feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and isolated.

It’s more than depression. It’s the fact that we’ve been dealing with this unending pandemic, and at times, it can feel hopeless.

Even if you haven’t been personally affected by COVID-19, you may still be feeling a sense of hopelessness that is keeping you stuck, isolated, depressed, and unhappy. So many of us are worried about how the Coronavirus is affecting our lives. Perhaps you’ve lost interest in activities and relationships you used to enjoy. Maybe you’ve been stuck inside for so long it’s hard to even want to leave the house. Even socially-distanced gatherings with friends and family are difficult to attend.

How can we respond to feelings of sadness, depression, or even anger when we’re not really sure where they’re even coming from?

What’s it going to take to move forward from these negative thoughts you’re facing? How do you move past the stress this season of our lives is causing? And how can you learn to express your needs when every single conversation seems to be about COVID-19?

It probably feels like there are no real answers to these questions, but with help, the right tools, and someone you can trust walking by your side, you can find the hope and healing your’e searching for.

Even if you and your family are safe, being stuck at home together 24/7 can make it hard to prioritize your self-care and your sanity.

Getting here is half the battle. After working up the nerve to even start searching for help, now you’re faced with what to do next: Do I keep looking around? Do I set up an appointment? Do I really even need help? These are all questions that many people have asked.

What to Expect

Being nervous about visiting a therapist’s office is a pretty common feeling. It can be terrifying to sit down in front of a stranger and talk about the things in your life that are causing you trouble. We completely understand that this is a scary process. Searching and finding this website was probably a difficult step, but  you’re on the right path. Counseling is not a dirty word. And Christian counseling is the perfect opportunity for you to combine your faith with your goals in life. If your goal is getting better, and finding peace in life again, you’ve successfully taken the first step.

When you come here, you’ll find a peaceful and judgement-free zone. Our offices are where people have talked about the good, the bad, and the ugly. Some people have made mistakes, and they’re trying to figure out how to fix them. Others have been through really traumatic experiences and are learning how to process those things so they can move forward. Others are struggling with grief and just want to feel “okay” again. No matter the situation, you’ll be in a safe place to share what’s on your heart.

What the process looks like:

Counseling and therapy is meant to help you get your life back and to stop the automatic negative thoughts that come with anxiety. Together, you and your therapist will work to reduce those thoughts, feelings, dread, and physical responses to anxiety. You’ll figure out how to better manage your symptoms so you can face each moment without fear.

The process usually begins with weekly appointments that are usually around 45-50 minutes. Therapy is best done with at least a six-week commitment. We find that folks who can’t commit to at least six weeks and meet less than weekly tend to have more difficulty, and the process isn’t as effective. After six weekly sessions, you and your therapist can discuss your treatment goals, and determine if you should continue weekly, move to bi-weekly appointments, or determine if ending therapy is the next step.
